Class 1-A is working on developing their ultimate moves—a process that will test their strength and creativity in all-new ways! To help them out, Mei Hatsume, a student from the Support Course, is brought in to develop improvements to their costumes. The attention from Mei might be more than Midoriya can handle, but he’ll need every edge he can get to pass the next hurdle for the students of U.A.—the Provisional Licensing Exam!

It is time for class 1-A to start making the finishing touches to their ultimate moves. That includes naming it. So as the students train to determine what their ultimate move is, Deku struggles to determine what his signature move will be. Unlike the others, Deku has improved a lot as someone who never had a quirk before. Yet, all the other students grew up with theirs and have been working on their moves for years. Deku has only had a few months with his and doesn’t really have it fully under control.

All Might shows up to watch the training and provide advice to each student (even while carrying a book with a title that will give you a giggle). The only advice he gives to Deku is that he is still trying to emulate him. It takes a bit for Deku to finally understand what that means and take action. He takes a trip over to the support teams lab to see if he can get some enhancements done on his suit. He has a funny and unexpected encounter with Hatsume. However, that encounter changed the way Deku fights.

Now the licensing exam has begun and class 1-A gets to meet students from other schools. They quickly learn they are not the most talented group out there. In fact, they are at a huge disadvantage. Between the villain attacks and the school festival all their quirks are known to the other students. The same cannot be said about the other schools. The first phase of the exam is a free for all with only 100 of over 1500 students passing. When its all said and done the outcome was not as expected but will part 2 change things?

Also, Deku and Bakugo have a passing conversation that could change everything between the two of them forever. Pick up Vol 12 now at Amazon.com. The new arc of the anime is just about to get into this volume over the next few weeks, so be sure to tune into that as well.
