It was a sunny Friday afternoon in San Diego when we attended the Star Trek: Discovery press conference. San Diego Comic-Con was in full swing by this point. All the costumed attendees made it feel a little like we were on some Federation party planet – Not a bad place to be.

We made our way into the large ballroom for this much-anticipated press conference. Most of the cast and a couple of executive producers sat at a long table overlooking a sea of reporters. They graciously answered all of our questions for the next 22 minutes and we left even more excited for season two.
We learned a bit about where Discovery is going to take us and more. There were also promises that we can expect the story to align with canon as the second season progresses.
We also got to meet Captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount. After watching the season two trailer I’m convinced he’s the perfect choice to fill Jeffrey Hunter’s shoes.
