The New Doctor Who Team’s First SDCC Press Conference

By: Tom Gardiner August 1, 2018
Convention News BBC America, doctor who, Jodie Whittaker, sdcc

Anyone who watches Doctor Who knows some big changes are coming in the next season. To begin with, Peter Capaldi regenerated into Jodie Whittaker and the TARDIS dumped her (literally) while in the midst of a fiery explosion. These are big changes, even for a show rooted in changes like Doctor Who. But this is exactly the kind of thing the show needs to continue being fresh year in and year out.

In this very first San Diego Comic-Con press conference for the new cast and crew, we learn a little about what may come. But I’m not going to give away anything here that you don’t already know from watching past episodes.

When last we saw the Doctor, she was in free-fall while her trusty TARDIS was ablaze on the inside. We now know she gets new companions (Sorry, they’re saying “friends”, but I’m just used to “companions”.). We know she’s now female with a new outfit that looks at home on either female or male fans. This is great for cosplay fans, though no outfit has ever deterred a true fan!

Other than that, you’re going to have to watch the press conference to learn more.
