Doctor Who First Look: Ep 5 “The Tsuranga Conundrum”

After that last episode it’s going to take me more than a week to clear my head of cobwebs. The spiders, who weren’t from Mars or of extraterrestrial origin at all, thoroughly creeped me out.

In this first-look clip for the next episode “The Tsuranga Conundrum” there are no spiders, thankfully. In fact, the gang find themselves in a light, bright future hospital. But where is this hospital? Oh, and what’s causing havoc in the hospital?

These questions and more will be answered when we finally get to see the episode. One line really caught my attention, though. When we hear, “I’ve encountered it before” it sounds like the Doctor’s voice. Considering Chris Chibnall has said no existing monsters this year, what could it be? Will it be a foe that we viewers have seen before or a reference to something as yet unseen? Again, we’ll know when we watch.

Here are a few vague hints from the official episode description:

Episode Five: The Tsuranga Conundrum

Action-adventure for all the family, starring Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.

“Risk to life: absolute.” Injured and stranded in the wilds of a far-flung galaxy, The Doctor, Yaz, Graham and Ryan must band together with a group of strangers to survive against one of the universe’s most deadly — and unusual — creatures.

Guest starring Suzanne Packer, Ben Bailey Smith, Brett Goldstein and Lois Chimimba. Written by Chris Chibnall. Directed by Jennifer Perrott.

Here’s the first-look trailer to further entice and confuse you:
