Captain Marvel: Trailer #2

The latest trailer for Captain Marvel is here! Brie Larson looks amazing in this role and the mystery surrounding her origins will no doubt be fascinating. We get a great look at the kree, the skrull, Carol’s time serving in the air force and Starforce, and, of course, young Nick Fury. Fury also has a scene with a cat and it is…perfect. Endearing. Cute. Show stealing, even! I have high hopes for this movie and am eager to see how it affects the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War Part II.

Synopsis

Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

This synopsis is pretty basic, but I’m sure that’s to avoid spoiling too much. It’s my understanding that the film will begin with Carol already having her powers, but not all of her memories. Those will likely be revealed through flashbacks or exposition from characters around Carol. It’s unclear how much they’ll draw on her comic book origin story. She thinks of herself as a kree, despite being human. She was made into a human-kree hybrid, reborn into someone stronger. But it seems that transformation blocked out a lot of her memories being human.

We know a fair amount about the Kree already thanks to Marvel entries like Guardians of the Galaxy and Agents of SHIELD. Speaking of, this movie will also include a younger Ronan the Accuser and Agent Phil Coulson, both of whom I’m looking forward to seeing in their earlier years. As for the Skrull, comic book fans are well acquainted with this notorious race of bad guys who are all the more dangerous with their shape-shifting abilities.

Seems like we’ll get a nice mix of scenes on Earth as well as in space. A lot of action, plenty of heart, and the right amount of humor. Seems like this will be a welcome addition to the MCU!

What do you think of the trailer?
