Niantic is introducing a new, special event in Pokemon Go this weekend! In addition to the many limited events and monthly Community Day events that the game already offers, trainers now have a new shiny Pokemon to look forward to. On Saturday January 19th from 11:00am – 2:00pm PST trainers will have the opportunity to catch a shiny Feebas through special research tasks! I don’t know about you, but I love Milotic and am very excited about the prospect of getting the shiny variant.
Spin the Photo Disc at nearby PokéStops to obtain Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Feebas. And, if you’re lucky, you just might find a Shiny Feebas! – Niantic
The key to this event will be hitting up an area with tons of PokeStops at your disposable. You can only complete one research task per PokeStop within the event time-frame, so make sure to arrive at your desired location and get exploring as soon as the event starts. You’ll want to spin and collect as many research tasks as possible in order to increase your chances of encountering a shiny Feebas! Make sure you clear out your field research tasks ahead of time, that way you will be ready to collect those special tasks right away! Any special field research task you collect within the event time-frame can be completed and collected later, but your best bet at encountering a shiny is going to be powering through as many research tasks as possible within those three hours. Good luck this weekend Pokemon Trainers! May you all encounter a shiny Feebas in your travels.
