‘Attack On Titan’ Confirmed for Fourth and Final Season

By: Robert Prentice June 30, 2019
Anime News Attack On Titan, Funimation

As the final episode of season 3 aired in Japan, Pony Canyon announced a fourth season of Attack On Titan. Sadly it was also stated it would be the final season of the anime. The final season is set to air in the fall of 2020. The author of the manga has stated the manga would be ending in about 10-15 more chapters. By the time the fall comes around next year, it will likely be complete.

Pony Canyon released a very brief teaser which doesn’t really tell us anything other than the 2020 release date. Given the amount of material still left to cover, many are wondering just how many episodes there will be. If it goes with its traditional slate, we should get 26 episodes. I don’t expect they will extend that for the final season.

Season 3 of Attack On Titan has been a season of revelations for non-manga readers. We finally learned what was in Eren’s basement and the history of the Titan powers. Whats more, everything they thought they knew about humanity was a lie. Funimation put together a great primer of the basement revelations. You can read it here (SPOILER WARNING). Are you ready to see Eren and friends story end?
