Knives Out: First Official Trailer for This Whodunit Murder Mystery Spectacular!

Our first look at the up-coming murder mystery whodunit film, Knives Out, hit the internet this morning, and collectively we all now have Thanksgiving plans centered around seeing it. Think Agatha Christie on steriods,  with a more than a hint of foul language thrown in. Knives Out is the whodunit you didn’t know you needed in your life, but now can’t stop thinking about how great it will be. This first trailer I feel perfectly highlights the unique and playful take on the classic murder mystery plot. Family has gathered for a loving older patriarch’s birthday party when things get crazy. In the typical whodunit style – this family has many secrets, has some big personalities, and everyone is a suspect. This is Rian Johnson’s first movie after directing & writing Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Knives Out also features one of the most star studded casts to have ever existed, seriously giving Avengers and Murder on the Orient Express (another delightful take on the whodunit genre) a run for their money. Of course a family full of strange characters, big secrets, and fierce relationships – needs to have some real star power packed behind it. The cast includes Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Katherine Langford, Noah Segan, Edi Patterson, Riki Lindhome, Jaeden Martell, Christoper Plummer, Lakeith Stanfield, AND Daniel Craig. You can imagine that in this group of people the chemistry on set was on point from the get go, and that makes this first trailer even more impressive.

The official Synopsis for the film reads:

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.
