New Attack On Titan PV – The Final Season Packs A Punch

It is finally here, the final season of Attack On Titan. The studio just released our first PV of the final season and there is a lot to unpack here. First studio MAPPA would be taking over the animation for the final season. MAPPA is known for other anime titles like the upcoming The God of High School and Yuri On Ice!!!. This means that WIT studios which previously animated seasons 1-3 would not be taking on the final season.

The PV also revealed additional details about the staff and scoring of the final season. Fans of the series will be happy to learn that Hiroyuki Sawano is returning to compose the music, along with Kohta Yamamoto. Hiroshi Seko will return to oversee the scripts. There is a time skip as evidenced by what we see in this PV and if you have not read the manga this PV might leave you very confused. Now is your chance to catch up on all 3 seasons of Attack On Titan ahead of the final season. Or even better, read the manga.

The previously issued release date for the final season was removed from the PV and it is not known when it will air given the current COVID situation in Japan. Many current and upcoming anime series and seasons have been delayed due to the state of emergency in Japan. However, some are starting back up as studios work out ways to record from home and operate studios safely. A compilation film is due to air in July overseas covering the first 3 seasons of the series. The film is titled Shingeki no Kyojin: Chronicle.

The returning cast for the series are as follows:

It is expected that the manga will end before the final season of the anime premieres. So its possible the ending in the anime will match that of the manga itself. There is a lot of material to cover in this final season and based on the PV, it’s going to be a lot to adsorb. So sound off in the comments on whether you are excited or concerned about the final season. Oh and be sure to visit the official Attack On Titan website where Isayama drew a thank you photo to WIT Studios for all their hard work over the years.
