It’s Friday night at Comic-Con. You’re in the Hilton Bayfront Indigo Ballroom surrounded by enthusiastic comic book fans. Everyone is about to watch incredible talent who are nominated for an incredible award walk into the room and schmooze. It is quite the experience and it is definitely something that everyone who goes to Comic-Con should try to experience at least once in person.
The Eisner’s does a really wonderful job of highlighting some amazing people to pay attention to. Each year I find new creators and learn new things about this industry that I know and love. This year Phil Lamarr was the host and I really like his style of presenting the awards. The funny part is that they joke about how long the Eisner’s usually take and they are not wrong, I think I have been there around 2 hours before. Regardless, it’s still a great time! Like they said, treat the nominations like a shopping list! Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners! Dark Horse receives 5 Eisner wins!
