Black Adam
This teaser panel was short but fun to watch. The passion that Dwayne Johnson has in this film was projected for all to see. While there was a lack of plot revealed—Black Adam is still in pre-production and not scheduled until December of 2021—fans did get confirmation on other characters who will have a presence in the film. These characters include Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and Cyclone. They will be joining Atom Smasher, who was previously announced.
Thank you to IGN for making a second teaser that shows the introduction of the Justice Society of America (JSA) in the DCEU, taking place in the same continuity as the members of the JLA movie characters. From the teaser, it sounds like Black Adam will be in opposition to the JSA’s help initially, but it’s a long time between now and next December to nail down plot points.
Quick side note regarding the multiverse: with establishing the DCEU being in a different universe of the CW’s Arrowverse during the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event last winter, events taking place in Black Adam won’t affect the CW shows. Stargirl does also takes place in a parallel universe from Arrowverse as revealed during Crisis. Whether Stargirl remains separate or has blended into Earth Prime is yet to be seen, so that show’s version of the JSA history influencing Black Adam isn’t clear.
My money’s on Stargirl joining the Arrowverse since it’s being moved to the CW for season 2, but we’ll put a pin on that tangent for another day.
