Cowboy Bebop Opening Credits Released

3..2..1… Let’s Jam

Cowboy Bebop has been an important part of many people’s lives. The show aired for the United States in 2001 and instantly became a favorite. I remember watching it when I was fairly young and absolutely loving it. Now, with the resurgence of Cowboy Bebop on streaming services and in our minds we have an incredible live action remake in the works! Check out the opening credit scene below.

Thoughts

When they first announced the live action remake I was slightly concerned. There are a lot of things in the show that seem like they’re going to be really difficult to translate. The casting was pretty spot on in my opinion (I love me some John Cho, go Sleepy Hollow!) and when we got our first looks at the cast in their outfits a few weeks ago I was sold.

Look at how perfect they look! Then on September 25th Netflix dropped the most exciting thing ever. The opening credit scene! It is very solid. They kept “Tank” which is the obvious thing for them to do. It would have been really strange for them to not use the theme song because that really gives the show the right feeling. There are so many similarities between the original and the live action scenes and I love that. They really stayed faithful to the material, but also made it their own.

Of course, there will be some things that are going to have to change, but overall it looks very close. They showed us Big Shot and some more characters from the series. They also included that incredible scene from Ballad of Fallen Angels so it seems to me like they’re really sticking to the series. Plus, of course, EIN!!!!! Look at that perfect baby angel. We love our data doggo!!!

Overall

I genuinely cannot wait to watch this series. It is going to be a lot of fun and I am excited for an entirely new generation of people to fall in love with Cowboy Bebop like mine did. I know people are upset over various things (Like the fact they didn’t outright show Ed… but c’mon, who do you think the character wearing the monkey head is? Plus, she doesn’t show up for a while in the series so… she’ll be there eventually.) but I definitely think this show is going to be worth it.

What do you think? Are you excited or do you think it won’t live up to the anime? Let us know in the comments below!
