Sanctuary Review – Uprising

Back in present day and during the time Helen was in the past, the earth is at the brink of total war with the abnormals. Upon use of Adams time machine, the energy created burst open 3 volcanoes and allowed millions of abnormal’s from hollow earth to come up to the surface. With Magnus missing, Will must take over and attempt to stop the UN from ordering General Villanova from to attack the abnormals and allow the sanctuary to find peace with them.

Will is no Magnus and it calls on deaf ears. To make matters worse, an uprising has broken out in the camp and Kate and Biggie are stuck inside the camp, being held hostage along with several of Villanova’s guards. This leads to the UN stopping all communication with the Sanctuary and giving the General full control to handle the situation.

Thelo who started the uprising after having found will standing near Fallons dead body, was now dead from the fight and the abnormals were leaderless. Will is running out of ideas and calls in a favor with his FBI girlfriend to see if he can gain access to military files to find out what Villanova is up to. The heads of all the Sanctuarys also had an emergency vote and made Will head of the global sanctuary network. With Will heading up the global network, Henry went to the camp to try and convince them to stand down.

Henry doesnt get very far and finds himself a hostage with the others. Will gets information on Villanovas plans but not before the first strike takes places on one of the 3 sites abnormals were coming up from and it killed over 58% of them. A super M-Path in the camp felt all the death and this resulted in near complete chaos at the camp as they were ready to start a war. With Henrys help, Will and Henry stop the next attack by blacking out their satellites for a short time and Henry notices someone eavesdropping on their hack. It was Magnus!

Garris knew Fallon was not dead, and in fact was working with her to try and get all abnormals to the survice. What Garris didnt know at the time was the real reason they worked with Adam Worth. With the help of Kate and Henry, they learn that the second site where Villanova was going to attack was just above a basilick feeding ground and was connected to a huge geothermal network. Should he attack it, the chain reaction would be devostating but as Fallon put it, would allow their species to reign over the surface. Of course Kate and Henry were listening in and Garris never agreed to the murdering of anyone, let along their people. With Magnus back, she was able to strong arm the UN and explain what would happen if they continued their course and all was calm.

Not all of the abnormals were willing to return underground, which means the Sanctuary has some work on their hands. This episode was directed by Amanda Tapping (Magnus) and it was nice to see the episode focus on Will and the others in the Sanctuary group and not on the “famous 4” (Magnus, Tesla, Watson, Druid and others).
