Alien: Romulus Drops Final Trailer

By: Robert Prentice

Alien returns to the big screen this August. The summary for the film is short and doesn’t reveal a lot but as is normal with these films, less is more. The movie’s premise is described as “Young people on a distant world find themselves confronting the most terrifying life-form in the universe.” According to an interview with the director, the film will take place roughly 20 years after the first Alien film. The studio dropped the final trailer ahead of the film’s debut in theatres so check it out below and let us know your thoughts.

The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes theย phenomenally successfulย โ€œAlienโ€ franchise back to its roots: While scavengingย the deep ends of a derelict space station,ย a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (โ€œPriscillaโ€), David Jonsson (โ€œAgatha Christieโ€™s Murder is Easyโ€), Archie Renaux (โ€œShadow and Boneโ€), Isabela Merced (โ€œThe Last of Usโ€), Spike Fearn (โ€œAftersunโ€), Aileen Wu. Fedeย Alvarezย (โ€œEvil Dead,โ€ โ€œDonโ€™t Breatheโ€) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (โ€œDonโ€™t Breathe 2โ€) based on characters created by Dan Oโ€™Bannon and Ronald Shusett. โ€œAlien: Romulusโ€ is produced by Ridley Scott (โ€œNapoleonโ€), who directed the original โ€œAlienโ€ and produced and directed the seriesโ€™ entries โ€œPrometheusโ€ and โ€œAlien: Covenant,โ€ Michael Pruss (โ€œBoston Stranglerโ€), and Walter Hill (โ€œAlienโ€), withย Fede Alvarez,ย Elizabeth Cantillon (โ€œCharlieโ€™s Angelsโ€), Brent Oโ€™Connor (โ€œBullet Trainโ€), and Tom Moranย (โ€œUnstoppableโ€) serving as executive producers.
