Featured Music Artists (Opening and Ending music)
Opening Song: “HUGs” by Paledusk
The band signed a contract with Australian label Grayscale Records in 2020, EU/UK label Avocado Bookings in 2021, and US label SharpTone Records in 2023, and has performed at numerous overseas festivals and live shows. The four-piece band from Fukuoka, Paledusk consists of Vo.KAITO, Gt.DAIDAI, Gt.TSUBASA, and Dr.BOB.
KAITO: This trackโs lyrics and music reveal my inner mind more than any other Paledusk song yet.
I think weโve succeeded in creating a sound that also fits the world of the manga!
I canโt wait to experience the moment the Gachiakuta anime and โHUGsโ play on screen, together with fans!
DAIDAI: I think thereโs a lot of overlap between the protagonist Rudo and the constant struggles we experience throughout life, bruised but not broken by senselessness and despair. I put my soul into creating this song like I was projecting myself onto him. It is a song that transforms adversity into something to love and own, and will make the world of the manga more immersive! I hope you check it out.
TSUBASA: Paleduskโs new track โHUGsโ will be the Gachiakuta OP, and is our first tie-up with an anime.
It has music devotedly crafted by DAIDAI and lyrics composed by KAITO. Both are amazing and in touch with the vibe of the series.
I hope you really enjoy it together with the Gachiakuta world.
BOB: Just as objects have a soul, there is also soul and feeling in music. โHUGsโ is a creation packed with the full range of human emotions and feelings even greater than that.Just like Rudo fights, we fight the world with sound. I hope you enjoy it!
Ending Song: “TOMOSHIBI” performed by the music duo DUSTCELL.
DUSTCELL is a music duo composed of vocalist EMA and composer Misumi, two kindred spirits who crossed paths after individual journeysโEMA as a vocalist, Misumi as a Vocaloid producer. Since the inception of DUSTCELL, they have captivated listeners with a sound that is both haunting and deeply human, releasing work with unwavering intensity and performing with raw emotional resonance. Here is what the duo had to say about their upcoming featured ending song for the series.
Ema: What does it really mean to be “right,” as we confront unjust malice throughout life? In a world with so much trivial discord these days, I was really struck by the protagonist Rudo’s youthful and sincere purity, how he discovers what’s important to him despite being ostracized, and how he fights with all his might for his friends. I’m deeply honored to be able to contribute to a title I love, and I’ve put my heart and soul into the track “TOMOSHIBI” so that it embodies Rudo and his crew’s “gachi,” intensely authentic way of life. I hope you enjoy it along with the anime.
Misumi: We spun together words that combine our own lives with how the protagonist Rudo continues to survive and thrive after being thrown into the Pit, no matter what injustice he encounters. We’d like it to be a tune that lights up the soul of everyone who hears it.
