NaNoWriMo 2014 – What are you doing?

Face it, everything we do here at Threeifbyspace has to do with writers. We’re all writers. We write about writers. We read stuff from writers. We WATCH stuff from writers! Writers of traditional fiction, illustrated fiction, science-oriented non-fiction, TV and movie screenplays… So we completely encourage every single one of you to write so we can continue to have jobs.

And one of the most interesting writing “events” is, of course, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), which I’m assuming you know all about. If you don’t, quickly, it’s an event to get you to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel during November. Go to NaNo’s website to learn more. I’ll be doing NaNo this year for the first time, so it’s a topic and event of great interest to me. I won’t be writing a genre piece this year, although there’s one rummaging through my brain… but since Threeifbyspace is definitely a genre-based site, I’d love to hear from any of you writing science fiction, fantasy or horror for NaNo – AND from those who have used this event in the past to do so.

I’m putting together a NaNo kickoff article for genre writers. If you’re doing this – first time, hundredth time, published or not, contact me! Give me any or all of the following info, as it applies and as you’re willing to share it with the world. Think of this as 1) oh god, I’ve put it out in print that I’m doing this, so I guess I really have to; 2) I want the rest of the world to know how I’m doing, thank you very much; or 3) LOOK WHAT I DID, and HERE’s HOW YOU CAN SEE IT! Feel free to share title, a 50-75-word description, info on how someone could view/purchase your published (in any format) completed novel, and of course, your name or reasonable facsimile. Send it all to me at Erin.Conrad@threeifbyspace.net (the “.” between my first and last names is VERY important, pay attention to details!). I need your info by the end of Halloween night, this coming Friday. And check TiBS for the kickoff article! (if you subscribe to threeifbyspace on our home page, or on Facebook, or follow me on Twitter, you’ll find out exactly when that article comes out.)

Good luck to everyone! Channel your inner Steven King or Isaac Asimov! And I’m hoping to hear from lots of you!
