Outlander: More Great Outlanderpreneurs! And TWO Contest Prizes!

There’s seemingly no end to the creativity of Outlander fans. I’ve been very impressed over the last couple of years by the variety of products and the talent used in making such beautiful items. And I’ve got a couple more to feature for you! We’ve got one returning favorite, and two new artists to feature, and not one, but two beautiful contest prizes.

Cleverly Beverly

Beverly Scollins says about her company, Cleverly Beverly:  I am retired, but busier than ever before.  I design pieces of jewelry from components I find, upcycled jewelry and more.  I also am “Fairy Grandmother” for my granddaughter’s Princess Party company.  That means I drive, take photos, handle the bookings and the money, and advertising, etc.  Cleverly Beverly has been a work in progress for 2 years.  I started out with scarves, scarf slides (I designed) and other small accessories, and also a line of baby items (Baby Diva).

But I have refined it down to several jewelry categories at this point because that’s what is most popular and what I enjoy.  I only sell on Facebook because I’ve tried all the other means (website, online store and more) and Facebook works for me.  Especially because my most popular items are my Outlander inspired or Celtic designs.

I love the Outlander series and enjoy creating special things for other outlanders.  I only make one of a kind, or just a small amount of any design.  Sometimes, if very popular, I will make up to 10.  In addition, my Outlander inspired pieces come in a hand made (by me) tartan gift pouch with a brief description of the clan that inspired my choice of that tartan. The other categories are: Simply Beverly, just things I make because I like them;  Healing Stones collection, because I like researching the different stones; Scarf Slides, just because they are fun to make, and some other random jewelry that I find.

Wit & Whimsy

We featured Wit & Whimsy for Valentine’s Day, and I have to say that this UK-based company completely won my heart with the hand-made, unique Rupert & Angus box they gave away. They’re back with some new items (and see the contest box to win one of them). Wit & Whimsy designs and creates beautiful handcrafted greetings cards, gift boxes and charm bracelets. All of our products are made from the highest quality materials and we use sustainable, vintage or recycled materials wherever possible in the creation of our products. New items in their store feature antique coins (many with Outlander significance) in purse charms, Outlander-inspired dangle charm earrings, and new cards and boxes.

Sassy Possum

Jackie Smith Taylor, the artist behind Sassy Possum, talks about starting her business: I’ve always like arts and crafts, and DIY projects. I painted and sold t-shirts as a teenager. I am a graphic designer, and have always enjoyed making invitations, signs and posters. About a year and a half ago, a friend told me I should start an Etsy shop. I started to offer digital designs.

The same friend owns a printing business, which allows me to offer physical items as well. The same friend mentioned the Outlander book series to me, shortly before the first season aired on Starz. I was immediately hooked on the books and had read several before watching the show, which I love. I’m inspired by Outlander mostly because of the unwavering love of Jamie and Claire for each other and their loved ones. Also, Claire’s strength is amazing. Her ability to do whatever is necessary to save Jamie, a patient or whatever is extraordinary. One of my favorite designs is very simple. It’s the Sassenach Strong design with the dragonfly. The dragonfly’s wings are a stylized infinity symbol, for Jamie and Claire’s unending love.

And now for our contest! Two winners will be chosen. One will win their choice of pillow from Sassy Possum, and one will win their choice of keychain/purse charm from Wit & Whimsy. You can enter for both contests, but you must do at least one of the options for at least one of the shops (the Sassy Possum winner must have done at least one Sassy Possum option; Wit & Whimsy winner must do one of their options). You also have a couple of extra options that will get you additional entries! Contest closes Friday night at midnight. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for issues you may have entering the contest.
