Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Anime Film Firms Up Release Date

It feels like an eternity that we have been waiting for the final film in the Evangelion rebuild series. And it’s fair, given the third film of the series was released in 2012. The official website for Evangelion announced just this weekend that after two previous delays, they finally set a release date for the film. The last two dates were pushed due to both coronavirus and declarations of emergency in Japan as a result of the pandemic.

The final film of the Rebuild of Evangelion series is titled, Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time. The new release date is rather soon, set to be released in Japanese theaters March 8th. The poster that was provided on the official site as well indicates we will also get 4DX, along side IMAX versions of the film. No information has been provided yet on when we might see the film in the US. Funimation has previously held the licenses here in the US and brought the previous films and distribution to North America.

Accompanying the announcement and post was a new preview formatted like one you would see after an episode of the original TV series. You can check that out below.

Also in-case you missed it previously, the official op for the final film “One Last Kiss” has 1:30 preview trailer for the film. Check it out and see the new poster for the film at the bottom of the post.
