Over the weekend during San Diego Comic-Con Marvel didn’t pull any punches with their announcements! One of these announcements was the first look trailer at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This gave us a look at what is next for the Black Panther series and what fans can look forward to. Check it out below:
Wakanda Forever
This, without a doubt, is going to be an extremely emotional movie. With the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel was faced with a tough decision on what to do with Black Panther and it is clear that they took their time to honor his memory. The trailer touches on the loss that Wakanda experienced while also showing the resilience that they have. I think this is going to be an amazing film and the imagery in the Wakanda Forever trailer is very strong. Tears are to be expected during Queen Ramonda’s (Angela Bassett) heart-breaking speech about her losses.
Namor (Tenoch Huerta), or the Sub-Mariner, is featured in this trailer as are the Atlanteans. There is a lot of Marvel comics lore with these characters. Namor is actually a known foe of Black Panther so his presence in this film makes sense. As we’ve learned, Marvel will not be recasting T’Challa and Boseman will hold that legacy. That being said near the end of the trailer, we see a new Black Panther unsheath their claws. Of course, there are rumors that it’s Shuri (Letitia Wright) but that is not exactly confirmed yet. Who exactly this is, however, we will find out on November 11, 2022!
