20th Century Studios dropped a teaser for its upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘The Creator’ from Rogue One director Gareth Edwards. Hitting theatres this fall, the film’s synopsis so far is simply “This is a fight for our very existence”. So before we dig into the premise of the film, check out the 2+ min teaser below.
A.I. has been a huge plot point of science fiction films for decades and is hardly new. However, in the age we are in now where A.I. is starting to bleed into reality with chat GPT and Google’s Baird, the rawness for the fear and skepticism around A.I. is at a fever pitch. What makes this refreshing is that it’s not based on an existing source material or a remake of something that’s been done before, it’s all original. That at least makes it interesting to dive into and see how they tackle the topic. Plus if you are a fan of Rogue One, which I am, this being directed by Gareth Edwards also gets me excited for this.
The Creator comes into theatres on September 29th.
