Over the past 2 seasons of Falling Skies Remi Aubuchon has taken over the reigns and cranked up the action and mythology of the series. His efforts have kept Falling Skies #1 in its time slot in the summer. Today Remi tweeted that he will not be returning for a 4th season and his Battlestar Galactica friend David Eick will be taking over.
No official word on the shows renewal, outside of Mr. Aubuchon’s comments, have been made yet.

David Eick is an American producer and writer, best known as the executive producer of Battlestar Galactica, of which he also wrote several episodes with Ronald D. Moore, as well as the re-imagined version of Bionic Woman.
Remi’s decision to leave was a personal one. He wants to write a novel, a dream of his.
Just to qualify the why of not returning to #FallingSkies: I want to pursue my dream of writing a novel in the Steampunk vein.Stay tuned!

The most interesting aspect of Remi’s departure is the comments that a replacement for the next season has been picked. No official announcement has been made yet about a 4th season. Normally we don’t hear about such things until the first 3-5 episodes have aired. While nothing is written in stone, this is a good sign that the show will continue into season 4.
Combined with TNT’s recent announcement to offer 24/7 LIVE streaming of its TV network, things are looking good for Falling Skies. Also checkout our recent interview with Remi about Season 3 of Falling Skies and what secrets he revealed.
Stay tuned to our site as we watch for official word on the shows possible renewal around Mid-July.
