Deadline Hollywood reported today that two of TV’s hottest stars have been cast in the new film Oxford – Outlander’s Sam Heughan has been cast in a lead role with Supergirl star Melissa Benoist.
Here’s the film’s premise: “Soon after arriving at Oxford U, an American Rhodes Scholar student falls for an arrogant teaching assistant who is quietly fighting terminal cancer. When she finds out the reason he is so standoffish, they make the most of each day, traveling the world together.” Heughan will play the teaching assistant.
Oxford will be produced by Temple Street, also known for the recently aired sci fi show Killjoys (and if you didn’t watch the first season, which ended last week, I completely suggest you look it up on syfy.com – it was my favorite new show of the summer). No air date was provided, or whether this is a feature or TV movie production. I’ll bring you more info as it’s available.
