Fox announced it was pulling the plug on one of the most expensive tv shows in recent history. At $20 million for the pilot alone, the show had what was considered marginal ratings for the network. Add to that months of no word about the renewal of the show and a slew of bad shows for Fox, it seemed Terra Nova was going to fail due to the cost and lack of high ratings.

A petition with SciFi Congress was near 10,000 signatures when fox made the announcement yesterday, but it was not enough to stop the network from pulling the plug. The studio 20th Century Fox is going to try and shop the series to another network.
