We’ve been petitioning, calling, begging, pleading – and USA has finally given us what we wanted – Colony has been renewed for Season 3! The network announced a 13-episode season, same as we had for Season 2, today.
The production will move to Vancouver from Los Angeles, where Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed. Vancouver has an active, busy filming community, and is a terrific city to visit. According to today’s Deadline Hollywood article announcing the renewal, Colony has been the “#1 scripted cable series on Thursday nights in total viewers.” The article went on to note, “Colony continues to fire on all cylinders creatively, with Carlton, Ryan and our incredible cast and crew striking a deep chord around the themes of humanity, survival and family,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
Added Jeff Wachtel, President, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, “When Carlton and Ryan first pitched Colony, they described it as ‘the Nazi occupation of France, with aliens.’ In a world increasingly filled with uncertainty about authoritarian regimes, Season 3 will forge an even deeper connection with our audience. It’s a quality show that we know will stand the test of time.”
So you can stop flooding the NBC Universal phone lines, tweeting your fingers to the bone, and celebrate – but don’t attract too much attention, or the Red Hats will find you.
