The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is Here, Baby!

Season Two

The Umbrella Academy season 2 is here, baby! It has been a bit of time since the television show based off of the best comic book ever released on Netflix, a year and a half to be exact! This show was an instant hit and was renewed for a second season only two months after the first season released. Now, we have news on exactly when we will get to enjoy season two. July 31, 2020! One day after my birthday! What an amazing birthday gift this is. Look at this incredible trailer below:

There is so much gone on with this preview and man I have so many questions. So, it is set in the 60’s and The Umbrella Academy brought the end of the world with them. This is an amazing set up and it looks like its similiar to its comic counterpart “Dallas” so I am really interested to see the route they take. Obviously JFK is going to play a huge part in this story line. Hey, if you haven’t read The Umbrella Academy comic yet go do that! We see the whole cast in this trailer; Sir Reginald Hargreeves included!

Breaking it Down

The family seems to have gotten pretty comfortable in their 1963 lives. Luther is in a fight club, Diego is in a mental institution, and Allison is somewhere falling in love. Of course, Klaus has a cult. Why would Klaus not have a cult? Raise your hand if you’d be in Klaus’ cult *raises hand*! Five is being Five, Ben is chillin’ with Klaus, and Vanya…. is Vanya? There’s also a special guest appearance from Hazel who is telling Five what year it is. Old Man Hazel is adorable! Five rallies together his family and tells them what’s at stake. We also see some exciting new characters like the milk men (seemingly a nod to Doom Patrol, which Gerard had a hand in rebooting at DC… I could be wrong, but I don’t remember any milk men characters in the comics) and Carmichael. Carmichael is the main man at Five’s company. He basically tells people what to do and they do it. This falls directly into the JFK assassination plot (seriously though, go read the comic).

Overall, this looks like it going to be such a fun season. I really cannot contain my excitement. The Umbrella Academy is such a wild ride that I recommend everyone go read it and watch the first season. Let us know how you feel in the comments below. Are you excited or just tepid on this preview of The Umbrella Academy season 2?
