Marvel Shows Galore: Loki, Ms. Marvel, and More!

A few weeks ago Disney had a massive investor conference. During this they decided to blow everyone’s mind and announce shows and movies coming to Disney+ and more. It was genuinely an overwhelming experience and I am still trying to sort through everything, but here are some personal highlights on the Marvel side of things.

Loki

Who doesn’t love Loki? I have to be honest about how much I absolutely love Tom Hiddleston and have a genuinely embarrassing fangirl story about him, but we’ll skip that right now. Loki has been my favorite Marvel Cinematic character since his appearance in Thor and every appearance after that made me love him even more. When I heard they were making a Loki show my excitement was uncontrollable and they amped up so much with this trailer! As with everything Marvel does, I think this is going to be top notch. I’m not super familiar with the actual comic universe, but I can tell they are weaving the threads of the comics even further into the Cinematic universe and I think that is fantastic. This is going to be something else and I really can’t wait!

Loki is coming to Disney+ May 2021 and you BET I will be binge watching this show!

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is a newer character to the Marvel Universe. Created by Sana Amanat and written by G. Willow Wilson Kamala Khan made her debut in the comics in 2013. I remember reading the first issue and loving the character, so I am really looking forward to this show! It looks like it is going to be funny and charming, just like the comics. The story is loosely based on creator Sana Amant’s personal experience as a Pakistani-American. She created Kamala to inspire young women like her. It is exciting to see this story come to life.

Ms. Marvel is set to release late 2021 on Disney+!

More

Marvel

There was so much more announced during this conference and trying to cover all of them would be a very long article, but I will briefly recap!

WandaVision is coming to Disney+ on January 15 and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will air March 19, 2021. Both of these shows debuted their final trailers during the event and even though I’m not too excited about WandaVision (I know, I know) they both look like they are going to be top notch.

We got more details about the Hawkeye show, which is based on the incredible Matt Fraction and David Aja run on Hawkeye. They announced that Hailee Steinfeld will join Jeremy Renner in the show as his mentee Kate Bishop. This is also set to air late 2021. They also announced a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special that James Gunn reportedly has been working on for a while and is set to release during the 2022 holiday season. More shows include She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Moon Knight, Ironheart, Armor Wars, a new season of What If…? and some I Am Groot shorts!

This is only the tip of the iceberg on what Disney dropped that day! What Marvel series are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments below!
