Before Joker, and Cat Women, Batman and the Riddler, there was a city and a story that was just beginning. Fox hopes that everyone will be glued to their TV to watch the origin of some of Gotham’s greatest heroes and villains. The extended trailer released this week gives us a look at just what point in the story we will be watching from. Its right after the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents and we watch as each of the young would be heroes and villains grow up in a city filled with disappear and distrust.
The DC Universe is rich with history and crossovers, so many fans are both excited and edgy over Fox’s attempt at an origin story. If they do it right, they could have a massive hit on their hands that they could do cross over bits with DC Films much like Marvel has done with SHIELD. If they fail, fans will riot and FOX will lose a large and highly loyal fan base.
