From the episode title, ‘Blood calls to Blood’, I’m guessing there is going to be some kind of reunion. Jace and his father are the obvious “blood pairing”, but there is usually more than one ‘thing’ each episode.
Are Jace and Alec going to be drawn to each other through their Parabatai bond? Is Clary going to be drawn to Valentine? Or, hopefully, her mother? Will Jocelyn finally be rescued?
Maybe some more of Valentine’s Forsaken, blood-altered Zombies, will be doing something sinister!
There’s also an ancient saying: “blood calls for blood”, meaning that the soul of a person who was killed demands the death of their killer. It’s a saying of vengeance. Let’s hope this episode isn’t about vengeance.
So: will it be about Relationships or Retaliation (or both)? There are three preview videos to give us some hints.
This preview video (0:49) shows us that Jace’s father was a circle member, and that he has now teamed up with Jace and Luke to fight demons and circle members. But: we’ve missed part of the story since last episode! What happened in between? And: while the men are fighting out the front of the building, Clary is sneaking inside. Why? That seems rather dangerous, if “there were thousands of demons here last night”.
Then there is THIS preview video (0:29): Now, THAT’s intense!
Presumably, Clary is still trying to rescue her mother, and defeat Valentine, but it looks like something is going horribly wrong!
Thank goodness we know there’s another season coming, so: they’re not all going to die today! (I hope!)
Izzy certainly hasn’t lost any of her independent spirit! Somehow, I don’t imagine Izzy’s trial is something that Lydia will want to delay, and it looks like other people are keen to get it over with too: (1:01)
I wonder what the connection is between this woman and Lydia. Do they know each other from “work”, or are they family? And what are her objections to marriage with Alec? Alec is wonderful! Isn’t he?
I guess we’re just going to have to watch ‘Blood calls to Blood’ to find out exactly what’s going on, because all these clues are just tantalising, without telling us the whole story!
