Final Fantasy VII Remake Launches Preorders and Extended Trailer Game Demo

Yesterday we gave you a short game demo view of the new game, along with a key art visual of Sephiroth. Square Enix delivered on its promise of more exciting information from last nights events. We now have preorders open for the new game in standard, deluxe and 1st class editions. We also got an extended trailer game demo which reveals a lot more elements of the game.

Check out the nearly 4 min video below. With a March 2020 release date, many speculated it would be released on PS5, but as the preorders can confirm, the game will be released on PS4. Whether the game is ported to PC at a later time remains unknown. However, it does seem likely at some point that they would port it given the previous edition was as well.

Previous comments from the team regarding the game coming out on multiple installments left many to wonder just how many separate games they might have to buy. The press conference announced that the game would release on 2 blu-ray discs. We don’t yet know why the game takes up so much storage that it requires 2 discs, but we were told via the press release that the first game will be set in “the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience”. It was not clear if that meant the first disc or the first “game” (both discs) with more editions to come for the expansive world.
